Solar Incentives

Available Credit and Rebate Programs for Solar Equipment

Arizona

Solar Tax Credit of 25% of system cost (max $1,000)
Deducted from state taxes owed, can be carried over for five years
Qualifying systems: hot water, pool heating, photovoltaic and day lighting systems
No state sales tax on solar systems

$1.45/DC watt for grid-tie photovoltaic systems for those appying to be in the July 2011 funding cycle (every three months)
$1.00/DC watt for grid-tie photovoltaic systems for those applying for the new Rapid Reservation Program (no waiting required)
$1.50/DC watt for off-grid photovoltaic systems
$0.50/kWh energy saved for water heating systems
Commercial Systems determined by competitive application process
System must be within APS service area

Federal

Federal Tax credit of 30% of system cost with NO cap.
Credit determined on total amount of system, however, income taxes must be paid on the incentive amount recieved.
No cap on credit for commercial systems.
